There was drama and tension when two teams of giant debaters decided to battle it out verbally in the arena of Kaseye Girls Multipupose Hall. The bone of contention was on Where did human come from? When some said God created them, others brushed it off by claiming human evolved from apes. This is where a Berlin war was constructed. However, being civil and future intellects, they decided to resolve the matter in a civilised way. A group of delegates approached the Debate Department to give them a chance to battle it out verbally in the presence of the whole student community and a date was set. Therefore, there were two teams namely: Team Creation and Team Evolution.
Team creation which consisted of Diana Chikopa (form 1), Rose Kipose (form 2), Annah Shabah (form 3) and Portia Chirwa (form 4), stood firmly on the argument that human beings were created by God and nothing happened by accident. On the other hand, Team Evolution which consisted of Shallom Singini (form 1), Janepher Gomez (form 2), Memory Archangel (form 3) and Tamandani Mbidzi (form 4), defended their argument that humans were created by using several Darwinian theories such as zoology, embryology among others.
The debate which started at a lower note, became red hot as each team kept on firing sharp piercing questions which festinated the audience very much. Team creation focused on the Bible, which claims that God is the sole creator of the universe, and all that is in it including humans. They wondered why Team Evolution was claiming that people came from apes and then apes are still existing.

Evolution
When the evolutionists heard this, they immediately fired back by claiming that embryos of all animals, including humans have same structure, to show that humans came from a common ancestor.

The fierce verbal fight, which was failing to die down, ended with the creationist emerging as winners of the debate. Although the enlarged creationist felt cheated, they honourably accepted the defeat although they were of the view that the audience were a better judge.
At the end, Madam Kaunda, representing the Debate Department, thanked the debaters for their courage and wit in presenting their arguments.
A.Kaunda: Both sides have performed well
Kaunda promised to award them with drinks and snacks which were not available at the moment.
